In 2026 I started working on a portraits series of friends I met on the internet. My intention is to make these virtual relationships feel more real by creating a physical piece of art that I then gift to the person I portrayed.
Werka Maciejewska is a Polish artist and my friend.
I painted her in her own art studio along with my favourite art that she made, and, of course, her dog Vincent.
Océane Rajic - Salon de Psyché
Océane is a French artist and art lover.
She commissioned me for her portrait and I was so excited to create an imaginary art room with all of the things that she loves.
Constance is a French leather-worker and designer.
I painted her along with her leather creations and some of her drawings.
Sophie McPike
Sophie is an Australian artist extraordinaire. She loves dogs, and also, she is mostly just a little bug.
I had the incredible opportunity to meet them for an art retreat in Dordogne this summer and I really wanted to gift them a portrait in person. I have admired her art for years. It really was a full-circle moment.
Manon is a French felted wool toy maker.
I imagined what her shop would look like if she had a physical one: a place to find all her creations and dream, escape.
Marocha Arredondo-Reyes
Marocha is a Dominican illustrator and potter.
I painted her with her cat Simba, in her dream house, surrounded by all of her creations and trinkets.
Clémence
Parallel to my personal work, I started taking commissions for portraits. This one was particularly fun and challenging as it consisted in painting Clémence’s family, who I wasn’t yet acquainted with, in their home (that I somewhat rearranged for the sake of composition). I thoroughly enjoyed this exercise of getting to know this lovely couple through the making of this portrait. I wish them a lifelong of happiness together ❤️
Taryn Knight
Taryn is an illustrator and goblin based in Colorado.
When she saw my Sophie Mc portrait, we talked about doing an art trade: so I started painting her portrait, and she painted mine (a dream come true).
